So i purchased a 120hz LCD off of ebay(Not going to namedrop the seller since the transaction isnt complete yet, will likely have to contact them in the next day or two), and the seller messaged me to confirm that it is indeed a 17 r1 im buying for, and that my laptop is compatible with a d01 screen. I tell him up and down as long as you don't send me a c01 screen i'll be fine. I recieved a VERY strange LCD today.
Anyone seen anything like this? Since it says C01 on the actual display i have a feeling it won't be fully functional, if it even works at all. Is there a way i can test the 3d function without the glasses? I want the capability to use the 3d eventually, but i dont have the spare cash to throw away $70 because a seller screwed up right now.
Are sellers even allowed to sell engineering samples? Will i run into problems using this display if i can get it to power on? Is it any more/less valuable than a standard LCD?
For reference, the label that says "d01" is on an outer bag, and the c01 label is on the display itself.

Never seen that before. I wouldn't take it. Samples are Samples .. may work great, may not.

3d only works with 780m/880m and you will also need the 3d emitter

I have no idea, I never had any intention to try 3d since the 780m barely copes with today's games.

ES stuff is usually fine as long as specs didn't change. Often the rev is a cosmetic letter change.
