    Hi guys.

Question for you about the above.....got my new system and have noticed some rather odd stuff.....

When my laptop is turned off, i have connected the a/c to charge whilst the pc is turned off.....

I have noticed that the Alienhead on the back of lid DOES NOT illuminate at all and i know the battery isn fully charged.

Im sure that my old sytem illuminates whilst off and plugged in to show charging so what could be the problem??

I noticed that aswell once, when the system was turned off, the power button and the alienhead logo on the lid would keep on flashing/illuminating. But i haven't found out yet, when it really does that. It seems very random to me, and i'm not really able to reproduce it. Would be great to know, when it does that for sure and when not. I know it does that when in Sleep Mode, but i'm sure i have seen that when it was actually Off.

I have to do some variable tests for that, but is this only happening while the battery is charging or also when it should be fully charged and the system is off? Maybe it does that only, if let's say the battery has been used below 50% and you charge it while the system is off. And would it stop after the system is fully charged? That's what i'm gonna test now, and let my Lappy run on battery for a while.

I'd like to see atleast the alienhead still glowing while the system is off, no matter it's charging or not :D

I need to get the Battery power level below 9 percent before my M17x will charge with PC off / AC Adapter plugged in.

Have you tried lowering the Battery power level before plugging in?

Ok, i can confirm that on my lappy the power button and alienhead on the lid, are flashing while charging from 60%.
After booting up again, i thought while Windows was loading up, it said battery is not charging, but now after windows loaded completly it does charge it now.
Will shut down at 95% again and see if the lights still illuminate while being off.

Edit: It's illuminating even from 95% charging while being shutdown, and it also stops when the battery is fully charged. Too bad it doesn't stay on, or atleast i'd like to configure it that way :D

Well i can tell you all that my lid lights do not work even when the battery is discharged below 50%.....i can plug it in and it will not come on or glow like its supposed to.

The power on button will also not come on until deskop tray icons are fully loaded.

    That aint right!

Please check your AlienFX firmware with AlienwareAlienFXTester.exe in the /Program/Alienware/Command Center/ Folder and tell me which Version it shows you in there.

BTW: I have the latest Command Center aswell along the latest AlienFX system board controller which AlienFXTester tells me is on Version 1.01.03
