    Hi,

I am looking to purchase aa adjustable laptop stand for my M17x so that the LCD can be raised more comfortably to eye level while I work or game on it. I plan to use an external keyboard in the setup.

The laptop stand will be used in my office, while I will just use the laptop by itself without a stand at home.

If anyone has any recommendations for such a stand that will support the M17x, please feel free to post your suggestions. I would prefer a stand that does not obstruct the front speakers.

    Thanks!

Personally i use a modified keyboard tray from work.

Its about 30 inches wide and a few inches deeper than the M17x. I put two screws at the back of the tray spaced apart so that they fall between the fans. I covered the screws with rubber, but duct tape did well too.

Thats it, More than enough space on the right for your mousepad and mouse and the back of the laptop is lifted by about 2 inches which enables the best cooling.

I usually put a small pillow in my lap, place the keyboard tray with the M17x on it on top of the pillow. I'm either in bed or on the couch with this.

Its comfortable and easily set aside when i need to get up.

i'll try to add a pic when i can.( nvm, apparently i cant add one and have to link somewhere else, not worth the effort)

Why not get the NC2000? It's raised a good 2-3 inches with it's feet and has fans to keep things cool. I use one as my stand.

Would any of the items recommended in this thread work for you? Some of them are more of a stand than a tray.

I make my own laptop stands. For some ideas search "laptop stands" or something related on instructables.com

Hi Guys, Thanks for some of your suggestions!

Regarding this Logitech stand, I have read that if the Laptop was too think, it may slip off the front edge, did you find this happening with your M17x? After all, I would consider the M17x to be the thickest, or one of the thickest in the market at 2 inches thick. Also, it looks quite small to support the large M17x, did you have any stability issues with balancing it across the supports?

I would like to raise up the LCP to close to eye level and I am not sure if this stand cooler configuration raises the laptop high enough.

Hhmmm....I did appreciate the feedbacks so far, but I don't think any suggestions yet would fit my requirements.

Haha...Thanks for your great ideas. Would have loved to see the picture, but no worries. I think I get the concept and idea.

Anyways, if anybody reads this and has actually found a great stand for the M17x or is using one, do share your find! :)

Thanks again to all who respond or who will respond. :D

It includes a USB dock, but is this closer to what you are wanting? The video link in the picture shows it in use with a notebook installed.

I do not know which ones would work best for the M17x, but if that is closer to your needs, here are similar options from Dell. Maybe looking at what they are offering would help to search for better prices elsewhere. Good luck.
