    Hi,

Today a tech came by to replace the cable of my lcd screen because they thought it was broken. After we replaced it the laptop didn't start still. The tech called dell and they are going to pick it up tomorrow for repair. The last chance too because today is my LAST day of warranty.

After he left I took it apart and put it back together again and it works perfectly now. I tried for 2 hours to get the problem back but it continues to work perfectly. Should I let them pick up my perfectly fine laptop??? Im so worried the laptop will give the problem again tomorrow when Im out of warranty. It has worked before like the problem was gone and had it come back again the next day.

    Greetings,
    Yme

Make sure you remove your 7970M and replace it with the original GPU.. They might take it out and replace it with a 6970M or something saying its a card issue so do that.. I see no harm in letting them repair it.. If they break it further, even if your out of warranty, you should be able to argue that its their fault and they need to fix it..

So it's better not to send it because of what TomJGX suggested.

You pretty much loose your warranty when selling original parts of the machine. So if it's working now, then that's good.

Thanks for the advice guys! I ended up not sending the laptop for repair. Since this post it has given the 8 beep code twice of the like 20 startups. Today it worked perfectly every time and it's 11:30PM now.

I just decided to stay with this machine for as long as it will work. If the problem continues to get worse and I don't know for sure which part is broken, I will just make the step to the new AW 17. It looks good now and who knows, maybe it will make my full 5 year plan for this machine. I always take extremely good care of my stuff, my fully functioning 6 year old Razer Lycosa agrees with me :p

A good keyboard should handle years of rough abuse lol, though mine has a replaceable cable so hopefully it will last for ages (mechanical switches too).
