    as above.
I am looking for a suitable m17x r3 Tray for my lap.

I do a lot of gaming with my laptop kind of wedged between my knees, so as not to block the fans with my clothing. even like this it tends to get a tad warm so I am looking for a suitable tray or cooler that is designed for sitting in your lap with your laptop on this.

    thanks

    Cooler Master Notepal U3 Laptop / Notebook Cooling Pad, Up to 19" (3 x 80mm Configurable Fans) - Newegg.com

This is the cooler I have for my R4. It's really meant to be set on a desk, but I use it on my lap as well. It is the best cooler I have used. Movable fans is always a bonus, allows you to place the fans right under the laptop intake area. Has a fan controler on it as well. Not that it matters, I leave mine on full speed all the time.

If you are serious about cooling/performance, Coolermaster U3 is the best.

I am more interested in a tray designed for sitting on my lap, overheating is not a real issue. like all laptops the base tends to get warm and this tends to warm the legs up, so its more of a wedge for use between skin and laptop.

Well if you did search you would have found countless threads on the subject, in his defence.

I've read on multiple threads and other researching the the U3 is the best cooler i couldn't speak on it because i don't own this model i bought the sf-19 2.0 usb model and i like it probably not the best but yeah i picked this option for a few reasons

    1. aesthetically it fits the image of aw

    2. it cools

    3.its large

    Hey buddy,

Here's what I bought a couple years ago for my R3: BRÄDA Laptop support - IKEA. It was $2.50 when I got it, but the price has been bumped up to $4, lol. DEMAND, I guess? :p

EDIT: Forgot to comment on it ;)
Overall, I really like it because it's cheap, durable, lightweight, and it's sized perfectly for our R3's. Also, aside from black, it comes in a funny bright green color. Works well on the desk too, if you prefer to not use textbooks. WARNING: because the tray is about as wide as our laptops, it's probably not a good idea to game on this tray due to lack of ventilation. But, I'm pretty sure if one was handy enough, he/she could tap some holes into it for some "ventilation," LOL!

Any cooler just reduces the temperature in the plastic that makes you feel safe, not the temperature inside the laptop.

Since you are gonna be a smartass about it and we will probably never see you again after you got what you came for, i'll respond to your inquiry about my post counts:

To be honest, you are the first of many i will use it on.
I am tired of the laid back attitude of new visitors like you on these forums that want hand outs.

Have you ever heard of the term: Let Me Google That For You?
If not, maybe you should look it up. (....but then you have to search for it....)
If you did...well that would explain everything now wouldn't it.

What do you think the search bar is for? Just to fill up space in the shell of the explorer? no, it's to actually FIND something FOR YOURSELF that YOU are LOOKING FOR...i know it's hard but try it..you might actually get results that we as frequent users have been spending weeks on end to find good/proven results.

"...0_o: ow no, i used the search function i and got 1000 hits....hmmm i wonder what "filter" means...now i really have to work for it..."

    Not sure if serious.

You said you do lots of gaming, last thing I would want to do is cut away any airflow especially if you get serious with overclocking.

No laptop cooler will help overclocking... You want to get better cooling.
The more parts you oc, the less likely you will decrease temp from an external source.
Search fujipoly and you end up in my thread.

The laptop cooler has been proven to decreae temp with a max of -8 degrees Celcius.

Even so good luck with the tray dookie11 posted.

My U3 has lowered temps enough for me to be confident to overclock both my 3920XM and 7970m. Both sit at reasonable temps even during intense gaming sessions... I have done testing myself and seen a considering drop in temps while using the U3 vs flat against a desk, and a slightly greater drop with the fans turned on full.

Anything that will decrease airflow restriction will lower the temps. Thats basic physics.
When placing a simple eraser on the lower part of the back side of the laptop will decrease temps.

    Lemme quote myself.

If OP really wants to game on his lap, then the U3/U2 would be better.
