    Hello everyone.
First, thanks for the A07 BIOS tip, I'm happy to finally be able to use the Verde drivers.
BUT..... my GPU temps have been off the wall. One card usually gets to about 100C within a matter of minutes in games, while the other is like high 60s. I can't figure out what's goin on! (regular desktop browsing is fine btw)

I would like to think i'm doing everything right with the graphics install (did the driver sweeper in safe mode too once to troubleshoot), but one thing is bothering me, when I install the new graphics drivers it says that PsyX never installs, just has a big X, but it says the display drivers have been installed. Could thins be why my temps are so ridiculously high? How do I get it to work?

Also, my back right rubber leg fell off but i just stuck a little rubber replacement in there, I dont see how that could effect anything as the fans still have access to air.
It seems the fans aren't being as amazing loud as they once were, but still audible.

I have no idea what's going on here, I try to take good care of my machine, and I would LOVE some input here, like I said, I'm at my wits end!

    MANY THANKS!
    :)

Do you have a laptop cooler? That would help reduce it.

But those temps are ridiculously high. Either the glue dell uses as paste finally gave out or something...

If you can't resolve the issue, just call dell and they'll have to ship you new ones to replace the defective ones.

My warranty expired a few months ago......
Possibly put in new thermal paste? I REALLY wish there was just an easy solution to this that I just overlooked. My baby cost me a lot of money....

If you haven't put in new paste ever/in a while, definitely do that. Will drop your temps 5C EASILY, even 10c. Also, have you cleaned out the inside of your lappy recently? Dust buildup would increase the heat by a crapload.

Well it sounds like you need to reseat. Repaste will drop but 90-95 from 100 is still way too high. Reseat and clean. Dont worry about laptop cooler until you figure the problem out; you don't want to mask a big problem.

Could you please tell me what reseating is and what it would entail. I'm greatly appreciative!

There are enclosures if you will that cover CPUS and GPUS. You have to remove them in order to get to the CPU to repaste. The heatsinks are those enclosures. You will likely find hard paste over the GPU that is just bad paste. More knowledgeable members will advise on proper repasting. Sometimes if you just "paste over" the hard old paste, then it can actually increase the temps of the GPU. There is an excellent teardown instruction of the m17x on youtube (youtube m17x teardown). Buy some quality paste. It may not even be the paste. You may have some sticker or obstruction of the heat sink that simply opening up and inspecting may reveal something like that.

This is video one of two

Edit: Easiest first step is to work from the simplest problem you notice; the fans. Disable and enable the fans and check to see for dust buildup/cable wire problems. That could be an issue. Also I would recommend reverting to older/previous driver and see if that resolves the issue. If so, you know it's a driver problem for you.

Before I attempt to mess with the thermal paste etc, one question.
The temps only go insane when I start playing a game, however when I exit the game the temperature drops to 60s within a minute or two, does this sound like heatsync problems since it cools off so quickly?

Like I said, it only heats up in game. Also what is up with PsyX not installing when I install new verde drivers, there a reason for this?
    Thanks so much everybody!
    :)

Dell are usually not that strict, if it is only a month or 2, they will still cover it.
Give them a call although your warranty has gone out. Its worth a try.

I wish you the best of luck.
