    Hey peeps

Having this weird issue with my M17Xr4. The network card is the Killer Wireless N1103.

Basically, when I first got the laptop I had an issue finding my WiFi network, which I thought was a bit strange as it's definitely broadcasting with several other devices hooked up to it - this is not a router or network issue.

When I did manage to find it, entered my password the laptop refused to make the connection. Next thing I notice that my WiFi network would no longer appear in the list of discovered networks!

Anyway, few reboots later I was able to find my network and connect correctly.

However, the problem seems to be lingering. Every other reboot, the Killer Wireless N1103 fails to either find OR connect OR both.

    Anyone else experienced this issue!?

    Thanks!

EDIT: In adapter settings, I've changed the setting to prevent it turning off. Will see if that makes any difference.

i don't use killer but from what i heard there are settings in it that might actually screw up your connection if you're in a high traffic network (i.e multiple pcs connected to a single router)
you could also try to reinstall the drivers, and see if the problem persists.
also try to use 20MHz only on the router.

I have an r1 and a killer 1102 so im not sure if this will help you or not. But i had to uninstall all the killer networks software run ccleaner and delete any remaining folders or registry entries, then just install the atheros reference driver to fix my issues with my card. The thread I started when I was having troubles is here.

    Hope this helps.

fyi: killer wireless are just rebranded qualcomm atheros cards running "custom" software... apparently the custom software is wack. lol

but i'd say their marketing ploy was a success... look at all the masses that ooh and ahh at killer cards and dish out the extra cash.. only to revert back to stock atheros drivers.. hehe :D

You can also try reinstalling the drivers from dell.com and if that does not work I would just go with the newest drivers from Killer Networks.

Do you have any antivirus program running?

I'm going to have a go at uninstalling and reinstalling and see how I get on. Although to be perfectly honest, since I prevented the computer from turning the device off in the power management settings for the adapter, it hasn't done it again since :)
