Hello, I own a M17x-R2 and recentely I'm having problems with my laptop, first is that I lost my second GPU, it won't work with the latest drivers and whenever I enable CFX I get a BSOD.
OK so I removed it and my laptop was good to go again, but with one GPU.

Now I'm getting lots of beeps when booting, it's more than 30 beeps, like if a key was stuck, but I've checked every key and no key is stuck.
But the odd thing is that it's not always it's like this:
    1st BOOT = beeping
    2nd BOOT = no beeping
    3rd BOOT = beeping
    4th BOOT = no beeping
    5th BOOT = beeping
    and is forever like this.

One note, when I get the beeping my keyboard seems not to work on menus like boot menus or bios menus.

Despite the beeps, my laptop works perfectly no complaints.

Is there a way to disable these annoying beeps?

First try full power drain, including bios battery removal. Check bios battery if its dying, I have seen similar issue with bios battery dying.

    SpinalGT,

Is there a series of beeps? (when it does beep). If so these are error codes.

    Alienware Beep Codes Table

I know that the beeps are error messages, could not remember what the beeps were for so I found this link above to what they should be in general reference. I hope this helps with a starting point. :)

    Good Luck,

    Nathan

I had already tried draining everything, even removed CMOS battery, but I haven't any problems related to CMOS battery.

Well, I don't know if it fits in any of these codes, I'm not having any problem with my laptop, it's working perfectly, these codes means how many times it beeps? A CPU failure would be 7 beeps?

If true, mine is completely different, since it beeps more than 30 times and really fast.

Yes, I've already done that, I updated the bios in 2011 to version A10, I remember that it was due to a screen flickering issue we had uppon launch.

Anyways it's really weird, cause It's been two days that the beep is gone, but it suddenly comes back out of nowhere.

    How can I do it?
What I did was unplug and plug it again. Is there a correct procedure to do this?

    You'll need to:
    • Power off the system.
    • Unplug the charging cord and the system battery.
    • Unplug the coincell CMOS battery.
    • Press the power button for ~30 seconds.

EDIT: Just to add that the coincell battery is located near the system fan (behind the back plate), very easy to access.
