After receiving my laptop yesterday, I'm very happy with everything. I had never run a benchmark before yesterday and so, downloaded 3D Mark 06 to see what this baby could do.

I havent received my primary SSD yet, so I havent downloaded much, and havent updated anything. I ran 3D Mark 06 today and received a score of 12063. This cannot be right. I understand it might be a result of the driver, the score tells me the driver is v8.851.2.0.

Another thing, is on the CPU test I only get FPS of around 1 or 2, is that meant to happen? My CPU score is 4277.

It worries me that some people with 6970's are getting scores of over 20000, and my scores are far below this.

check to see if your running the igp. also what settings are you running the bench? hopefully default.

the cpu bench is killer and normally runs from 1-3fps.

It said I'm running the high performance GPU. Ran the bench at default settings.

hmm your stock 06 should be around 20k, can you download gpu-z and make a log file of a bench run.
here is my stock run for reference

I've downloaded gpu-z, how do I make a log file of a bench run?

Its quite useful that we both have the exact same specs, aside from the RAM.

That CPU score suggests that Turboboost is disabled, but even then the overall score should be about 16K, so something else is holding back the GPU. Are you sure the bench was run at 1280x1024 default setting?

Are you plugged in and running "Maximize Performance" for you GPU? In CCC, go to Powerplay settings and check if it reads "Maximize Performance"

It appears that you were on battery power, which drops the clocks to 400/900 and restricts or disables Turboboost. I got approximately the same score you report after unplugging and running 3dMark06 -- 12,543. Plug it in.

I havent tried just yet, after my SSD is working nicely I'm going to see if all is well. I was using the battery, but that means I cant fully utilize the power if I want to use the battery and game?

Actually pretty good score for battery. It would be playable. At least for less than an hour.
