Did anyone notice that the 3D systems start at $2074 now?

It's a Dell habit (marketing strategy) to lower prices on one side and raise them on something else so they don't lose anything.

I like to doublepost to. Edit button is your friend

The deal for 3D was only for a limited time so yes, the deal for 3D is over which brings it to it's regular price of $2074

I guess I should've waited 4 days before ordering mine. It would've been a little cheaper. I don't really care about the RAM, but maybe I could use it on another system or sell it off. I wonder if they'd adjust the price for us that just recently placed orders.

They will... even after the discounts I had on my order (ordered 4/1). I called yesterday saying a day after I ordered a $135 discount is offered to the same system. He started talked gibberish(Indian rep), but then later proceed to refund $100 dollars because of the discount offered.

    So yeah call!

The first Indian CSR guy I spoke to says that they can't issue me a credit. He suggests that I cancel and re-order again. I politely asked 3 times and he put me on hold (to supposedly consult with someone -- the old car salesman trick, I suppose) and said that he could not help me. Time to try again... I don't want to change the build of my system, I just want the monetary difference. Geesh...

Strike 3. Dell doesn't have any sort of price guarantee other than, "Too bad, so sad". They won't do anything without canceling the order and resubmitting. Panamaniac, if you were able to work it without a cancel and resubmit, you must've talked some sweet Kama Sutra passages with your CSR. ;)

I not only got initially $130 off + Free next day shipping + no tax.. but I called back and told them about some of your guy's orders with your prices and setups, they gave me an additional $200 off.

Its all in how you present your self. Be nice, make a joke here and there..(it helps with your kid screaming in the background) and they will liven up.. they don't really "talk to their boss" they put you on hold, talk about your funny sounding accent, and try and bend you over.

I'm 3rd tier support where I work, so I'm usually very courteous since I'm usually on the other end of things and all they want is a resolution ASAP. I'll have to try again later and see if I get a better batch of CSRs, haha.

My company sells automation systems primarily to hospitals for inventory control and medication/supply delivery. Luckily, I don't have to handle calls regarding finance. ;)
