Didn't you just trade your sony for that a week ago? On the oher thread you made yesterday, you said 2 weeks and now 4 weeks?

Was the computer purchased as brand new or was it purchased as a refurb? If it was purchased brand new legally it has to be a brand new replacement, they will probably try to push a refurb'd r1 on you but don't let them. Go check out the replacement thread in the main AW forum and I think you'll be pleasantly surprised! With those specs if you push for a new system and get one your talking about XFire 4870's, i5-540m or better possibly an i7, RGBLED, 250gb hdd or better and 4gb ram or better. Don't accept any less than that. If you want some advice PM me.

He traded his laptop a week ago according to his own post and all of sudden his computer was "bricked" after 4 weeks of dispute? He went from 2 weeks on yesterday's thread to 4 weeks on this one. I posted on his other thread he'd get core i5 in exchange of C2D and now he made another thread to get an "i7" system. It seems like he traded his laptop just to get an AW from the beginning.
Isn't this considered as a fraud?

The US Federal Magnussen Moss Warranty Act is why it is supposed to be brand new. Now if he isn't the original owner who purchased it as new that doesn't apply which is apparantly the case. Unless Dell wants to he isn't entitled to a replacement at all as a second owner, only repairs.

I thought this thread was closed. Hmmm....strange!

If you had a new computer to begin with, the "identical or reasonably equivalent" wording would probably allow you to get a brand new replacement. If you had a used computer, then a refurbished unit would probably qualify as "reasonably equivalent" for the purposes of replacement. -
Haha, i got an M17x for my m1730, then they replaced it with an m17x-r2 even though they said, and i quote, "we will not be able to get you an R2 Model." the dell CSR who helped me was really great. However, about the whole "Has to be a new not a refurb" thing, mine is a refurb and i purchased a new computer from dell, does that apply if my refurb is the 4th replacement dell gave me? haha. Cuz i started with an inspiron e1505, then went to an xps m1710, then m1730, then m17x-r1, then m17x-r2. lol.
