I'm new to these forums and have been searching for a few days and have not found my particular issue. When my system has been turned off for a while and I try to start it, the lights all come on as if it will finish post and boot but it doesn't. It sits there for a while and then all the lights go out and the fans come on at full power. If I try to power cycle it it just goes between the two modes. This happens on battery or power with battery plugged in. If I disconnect the main power and disconnect the battery... then reconnect both and all works fine from battery or power?
    Any suggestions?

    Thanks

Try disconnecting the AC adapter, remove the battery, unplug your CMOS battery and hold down the power button for 2 minutes.

Plug the CMOS battery back in, reassemble and see if the problem is cured.
