This problem just started recently. Seems like it is just dead for lack of words.

It doesnt make the usual sound upon start up like it is checking if its working. Also if wont accept any disks. I can push a little bit but the disk pops back out without being pulled in like normal.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Are you talking about the optical drive? Are you sure there isn't a disk in there already?

As far as I know there is nothing in there at the moment. When clicking my computer, it shows nothing in the drive.

Okay then you probably have a defective optical drive, if you are still under warranty, call up Dell support. If you aren't...then just replace the optical drive and check Dell's support site for the service manuals.

Thanks. Will be contacting customer support probably tomorrow. Didnt want to send it in since I am currently overseas but I guess there isnt much of a choice with my warranty ending before I leave this place.

Yeah, that's the kicker. If you can sweet talk them into sending you a replacement drive and you sending back the defective one, do that. I'd lie thru my teeth and say the parcel services that are in the area won't ship it because of the battery. That might be enough for Tech support to send you the replacement. I've already had my optical drive replaced twice, so it definitely has issues.
