    Hi,

Well I recently purchased an R3 and am not really happy with it, mainly because the screen is poor quality. I am currently in the process of trying to return it because of defects too.

My question is, does anyone know where to find a M17x R2 online? Preferably brand new with the amazing 1200p RGB screen.

    Thanks in advance,
    Nate

    +1

I ordered a R2 a few months back and it was beat up some. So after taking pictures and showed this the rep, he offered an exchange. I waited and one was sent to me, and that too was scratched. So they did one more exchange and this time, not only it was red instead of black (didn't really mind), but the screen wasn't a RGB. I was so annoyed that I sent back everything and ordered the m18x.

The m18x had a scratch on the top, and an exchange was offered. I took it, however I asked to extend the warranty. It was almost as much as the laptop itself so I was told to send it back and re-order it.

Instead I ordered the m17x I ordered now in my sig...

    ...hopefully the end...

I ordered a R2 recently as well, and went through 3 replacements before I got one in good shape. The refurb quality from the outlet is not good right now.

Have you tried calibrating your monitor on the R3?
there are a few threads on this forum about it. It dramatically improved the quality on mine.

Oh...if you have the 900p screen, there won't be any kind of tweaking that can get you anywhere near the RGB screens.

The 900p's are really rough from what I have seen.

Yep, VERY. I have a 16 inch 720p laptop and it look miles better than this.

I am going to call later today to see if it is possible to send it in to get fixed for the dead pixels and also while they are at it pay for the upgrade for the 1080p screen.
