    Hi, that's the correct jack but you can find cheaper on e.bay ;)
    And yes, you'll have to do some soldering.
    You'll have to remove the motherboard and you'll see it right there, an easy job.

    Can you point me to the right one on Ebay. I did a search for M17X R2 Power jack but nothing comes up.

    Sure, no problem.
    Yes the M17 (Alienware), M17x and the M17x R2 etc. jacks are the same.
    Even with some HP laptops.
