Hi, I'm fairly new to tinkering with computers/hardware so I figured I'd request assistance from more experienced vets here. I have an M17X-R2 that I'm fairly certain I've messed up a little from flashing bios and other such things incorrectly. I would like to replace the HDD that came with my laptop with an SSD for OS and a larger 1TB HDD for data storage. My question is, will I need to redownload and install bios, vbios, etc when I do this? If so (which I'm suspecting), could anyone link to me or tell me a checklist of all the drivers/etc I'll need to install?

    i7 720m
    xFire 5870s
    4GB DDR3
    500GB & 500GB Momentus XT

Thanks for any help. It's very much appreciated!

No, BIOS and vBIOS is completely separate from OS. You'll need to reinstall Windows and all appropriate drivers. When I reinstalled the OS on my R2 recently, it did not find the video and the Intel 6300 card.

Thank you for the clarification. In that case, is there any way to completely wipe my laptop and start with a "clean slate" in terms of the bios? I would like to redo the entire thing from scratch.
