Hi,my friend is moving to Hong Kong. He wants to sell his X51. its the new i7 and gtx555. I thought it might make a great media centre for the good price he has offered it to me. Does anyone know what the gaming performance would be like to my R2 (spec below). would it be better? Im still keeping my R2 as I use it for work as I travel alot.

    Many thanks :)

Gaming may be a bit inferior to your R2 but only slightly. The great thing about the X51 is that you can put a GTX 670 in there and then it will scream.

You can upgrade the x51...but I know the card needs to less then a certain wattage? does the GTX 670 fall under that wattage? does anyone know what that wattage is?

And OP, just out of curiosity...how much are you buying the x51 for??

I've seen reviews where people have stuck a GTX 670 in. There are gameplay videos on YouTube as well. If not the GTX 670 then the upcoming GTX 660 cards will definitely work.

5870M CF = desktop 5770 in Crossfire, which isn't too shabby these days, but a 670 will beat 5870M CF. On top of that, X51 will utilize desktop Sandy Bridge processors, but that may not be the bottleneck in most cases.
