    So if i ws to install the nvidia 460m into the R2, and output it to a 3D capable monitor, would it have 3D?

    No because you still need a Dual link DVI output to support 120hz monitor and the R2 doesn't have one

    Wait a minute you have Display port and that may works but i am not sure

    Yeah, this should work with a DisplayPort to DisplayPort connection, I don't know about DP to HDMI connections though...

    And you'll also need the Nvidia 3D vision kit.

    yes an adaptive dual link to dp will get you 120hz. but cost like $100 for the adapter. :(

    Why would it not work with hdmi? I dont need two cables hooked to my tv for it to work in 3d from my ps3.

    i believe the hdmi port would have to be 1.4 compliant and as of 3.55 firmware the ps3 is 1.4 compliant or maybe it was 3.50 not really sure on that one

    the best way to go about it for now is to get some good old red blue glasses and enjoy the 3d old school style

    So the HDMI on our r2s are not 1.4? Can dell make them 1.4 via software.
