    Hello all,

I'm looking to add Corsair 2500 speakers to my bedroom gaming setup which includes the M17X.

Now the sound on the system is downright terrible.

So, would just buying a new set of speakers make things great or would it be better to add an external sound card?

if a sound card is required, are there any recommendations?

    Thanks in advance!

I bought a creative labs USB soundcard, it really adds quality to your listening experience. I bought it for gaming so I could get eax virtual surround. You can find them for as little as £25 I think.

R3's must have gotten a bad soundchip. I tested out my R2's sound over HDMI to a home theater and it sounds every bit as good as my SoundBlaster with EAX support on my desktop so I saw no need to get an external card. I guess everyone's experience is different.

doesnt the hdmi output just bypass the soundchip n go via the gpu out to your home theater ?
