I recently received my M17X with the 120hz panel and used a friends Spyder to create an ICC profile. My system was calibrated with the brightness at max, and all color settings at default, for 3d gaming. I've attached it, but remember to try it at your own risk! I can't be held responsible if your system explodes or turns into liquid hot magma. Enjoy!! Don't be afraid to +rep if you like what you see!

Sorry if someone has already provided a color profile, I searched and didn't find one.

    How to install.

I'll test the one you provided for a couple days. The one I provided was certainly warmer than yours, but provided for a lot of mood in-game. I'll have to play around with both and see how they perform, it usually takes me playing for several hours.

Thanks for the color profile... I just got my m17x this morning, and I could tell immediately that the screen was too blue. When I bought my desktop monitor, I read up a lot on color temperatures and downloaded a color profile from TFT Central that calibrated it to standard 6500K color temp (standard "warm", less blueish and more reddish like natural light).

Obviously, the screen on this laptop is well past "cool" and has a major blue tint. It's even more noticeable after working on a warm display for a while.

Anyway, I tested your profile, and a few others, in comparison to my desktop monitor. Yours is definitely a HUGE improvement over the uncalibrated settings. It's slightly warmer (more red) than my monitor but just barely. Nice work!

I also downloaded two profiles from notebookcheck reviews for the m17x R3, done for an older system with 460M and a newer one with 580M. The 460M profile is on the cooler side, and the gamma is slightly brighter than the standard 2.2. The 580M profile is pretty much spot-on. Temp-wise it's the same as my monitor, and it's exactly 2.2 gamma (at least when I check it on Gamma calibration - Lagom LCD test)

I spent probably a couple of hours playing with all three of these profiles, but I finally decided on the profile created on the 580M. If I wanted a slightly cooler tone, I might've gone with the 460M profile.

Can any one of you please explain how to use them?

I downloaded the zip file, extracted what was inside.. Double clicking on file (icc profile) did nothing , so i right clicked and selected install profile.

However I don't see any difference in any pictures. So how do we use these profiles?

I have 580m and I searched in the nvidia control panel but couldn't find any option for color profile.

Ah ok I see. Quite simple actually.

Control Panel -> Colour Calibration -> Add profile

I calibrated myself. How do I extract the icc file? I wanna post mine here too!

The .icc files are stored in a system folder:

    C:\WINDOWS\system32\spool\drivers\color
