M17X R3 Windows 8.1 Installation

Hello guys, I seem to be having issues with an 8.1 installation. It's a DVD 8.1 copy, not 8.0.

So first, I have an AW M17X R3 as the title stated.

3D (currently not working due to 680m)
Unlocked v10 Bios (I think)
(low end) i7
8GB
680m (Dell OEM, vBios modded)
1TB Raid (500GB) 7200 drives.

What I'm doing is changing the boot priority to CD and inserted the drive. Proceeded to do a clean install. The installation files are copied then the laptop restarts. For some reason at this point it's acting like I haven't started the installation process and I go through formatting the first partition, re-copying the installation files and once again it restarts. Going over it all again.

Is it because I've left the raided partition in contact? Do I need to break the raid setup? Do I need to delete the other "recovery" partition?

I re-installed Win 7 a while ago and I think I remember loading some kind of driver to load Win 7 onto the Raided partition, but I'm not sure if I'm correct in needing it since I'm having difficulties locating info on it.

If there is a guide that also included all current drivers required to get this new OS onto my m17x r3, could I get a link. I've been looking all over and to no avail have I found it.

Just so you guys know, as far as I know, Win 8/8.1 is not supported by Dell for my laptop, nor was the 680m, but I did it and was successful. I know I had trouble with the prior Win 7 install, but I can't remember what I did or needed and am having a hell of a time finding a guide or info on it.

Right now I'm trying to re-install Win 7 and then going to try to upgrade 7 to 8.1.

 

Ok so I found the file to install windows onto a raid configuration for the m`7x r3.

Also, I did get 8.1 onto a non raided partition, obtained modded NVidia drivers for my 680m and got Driver Installation Failed? Is there something I'm forgetting here, maybe a bus controller diver or something.

 

They'll fail unless you modify the INF.

 

I actually meant modded inf drivers. Was still failing installation. That was the 335 driver I believe, but the latest beta drivers actually installed.

I also finally managed to get the raid controller file required to install onto a raid configuration and was able to get 8.1 installed on that. Found all the drivers and now I'm good to go. Only device issue unresolved was PCI or something. But everything is functional, games play great.

hey guys, although i got a different setup (mine has a 7970m) in it, do you mind if you give me a guide on these installation things as well? i am currently having a problem installing the os on my r3, i got a new ssd to install the os to. also i am still at the stock a08 bios that came with it when shipped. i really need help! when i installed it before, i got a bootloop after restarting. when i reinstalled a new os, the screen went all white when i installed the amd drivers (14.6)

help please!! TIA!
