    M17X R3 cant seem to get my 460m working

    Hi there just got my laptop yesterday and cant seem to see my main graphics card working.. it just seems to be the intel intergrated family card when i press FN + F7 i get "this dose not do anything". whenever i do go on games no matter what settings is set i allways get low fps. :( any help would be great


    my specs are.. inter(r) core (tm) i7-2820qm cpu @ 2.30ghz

    8 gig ram 64 bit windows 7

    gpu is nvidia geforce gtx 460m

    What games are you trying to play? Also, when you go into device manager do you see two display adapters listed? Do you get an nVidia control panel option when you right click the desktop?

    This method works but there is another way which does not involve using a modded BIOs. I will write a post about the details of it later, as I have a system with a 460m and 60hz screen, running an inf modded version of 280.26 with no freezing or crashes.

    hey guys! first of all thanks for replying :) im trying to run arma 2, darkfall online and ive also tryed a benchmark dell recommend. hey zoolian, i had a look at uer post there just about to give it a try :)

    will that bios update affect my warrenty? and if im in warrenty dose alienware technical support charge me?

    A modded Bios will most likely void your warranty. If it bricks your system you may get charged for the repair. Be careful.

    thanks yeah i better leave that for now.. is there any similar way to tht without modding the bios to see if my main card is enabled?

    have u tried going into nvidia settings and switching the graphics to switch to the 460 on some games? I have had to do that for some games (the Witcher 2 comes to mind :D)
