Hi all, currently awaiting the arrival of an M17X R3 and my entrance into the exclusive club of the alienware owning high and mighty! haha in all seriousness I am very excited, coming from a 5 year old Asus F3SV its going to be a big step I feel.

Now, It would appear from browsing countless threads that many often receive faulty M17X systems from dell and need to get replacements sent, and whether this is the case or not, I'm just wondering what I need to check for and test before satisfying myself that my new toy is in peak working condition. For example, what are the expected temperatures I should expect to see for the CPU/GPU while idle and under load? Any pointers are much appreciated.

I apologise if any of this has been covered in other threads.

    cheers
