    Hey guys.

Bought my m17x r3 from a guy in USA who didn't want it.
Just bought it from him a couple of days after he got it.

Have filled out and sent the international warranty transfer
on dell's support site, which is now 4 weeks ago. But still no update? The warranty status still says USA.

When i got it, i installed first an extra Kingston SSD 128gb disk.
Everything seemed fine except for the bsod's i got frequently through the
first installations of win7 and testing of all kinds of drivers.

Now, yesterday i installed a 2nd Kingstond SSD 128gb disk, setting them in raid 0.

After that, ive been getting buzzing/ticking/squeeking sounds from the computer. Seems it could almost come from the LEDs? (can it be the SSD disk? thought not, since no moving parts)

After 4-5 win7 installations now, everyone of those giving me bsods (IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL mostly) after the installs of os and drivers. im almost giving up...

Anyone got same problems or know whats the issue here?

    All help is much appreciated.

    Thank you.

    - thailemon

So to clear stuff up you got yourself two problems.
First - warranty transfer, right ? Are you doing international warranty transfer or from USA to USA ? Either way, you can always service it in case of a problem if you know the name of the original seller.
Second - raided SSDs are causing BSODs in windows + weird sounds ?
Did you try to pull out/unraid the SSDs and try to install windows on a single drive again? does the behavior persist or is it working fine ?
Are your drives defined correctly in the BIOS (RAID/AHCI) ?

    ah, sorry for my english.

transfering the warranty from USA to Thailand.

regarding the sounds im getting - doing a fresh install now, non-raid, switched back to ahci in bios and so far no sounds like i was getting under/after install when in raid 0. seems extremely weird.

regarding the bsods, will report back later. will install each driver, reboot and see how far i get before any bsods appear.

got first bsod after installing the realtek card reader driver from dell's website. uninstalled it, bsod gone.

those weird noises, have only heard 1 of them, compared to 20 pr minute when in raid 0. wonder why the heck i had these sounds when in raid 0.
thats the way i was hoping to go for, thats kinda the reason i got 2 x ssd disks in the first place.

any ideas to why these squirky noises comes only when in raid 0 ?

None, sorry. What i can tell you though, is that you won't get much improvement from RAID on SSDs vs a single SSD due to chipset speed limitation of the R2.
