    A12, A10 or A8?

I want sata III speeds with highest stability.
For the A12 unlocked where is the speed setting or is it on by default.
Do I have to use bay 0 or 1?

Its default as far as I know and I wanna say you should use bay 0. Bay 1 is the one with the SATA III issues. What brand and model SSD are you using?

Are you sure you have the unlocked one then? Should be enabled by default

I have an Alienware M17xR3 running the Dell A12 bios with a Kingston HyperX 240gb 3K SSD. Intel Rapid Storage tells me the transfer rate is 6 Gb/s it is in bay 0..

Bay 0 is the one that reaches SATA III speeds. Some official BIOS's have locked this feature due to stability issues though.
