    Hello all,

My overclock options are mostly grayed out - I can set overclock to enable but "extreme edition" is grayed out and Intel XTU won't let me change clock multipliers (except the bus frequency).

Can someone point me toward the right direction?

Ahh, I'm using 3630qm and it turns out they are locked in BIOS. Anyway around this or will I just have to accept it?

I'm preeeettyyy sure it's locked. There's always a way to everything, but I'd guess it would be a big hassle to get that overclocked. I dno tho /:

yeah the 36xxQM series are locked, the only hope is the turbo boost.

the other series like 37xxQM and 38xxQM are partially unlocked, they can be overclocked, not as much as extreme edition cpus. The base clock multiplier is locked, but the turbo boost multiplier and the base clock are unlocked.

the 39xxXM, of course, are unlocked.

Please correct me if I am wrong.

It is locked, the XM series is not. Sorry about the inconveniences.

Thanks Luis, it's not that I'll need overclocking on this beast soon anyway :)

Actually the 37xxQM and 38xxQM allows for partial overclocking with a semi-locked multiplier. You can add up to 4 to the multiplier (I think).
