What processor do you think is best (price + performance) based on the current offerings:

    (1) 3rd Generation Intel® Core™ i7-3610QM processor (6MB Cache, up to 3.3GHz w/ Turbo Boost 2.0)

    (2) 3rd Generation Intel® Core™ i7-3720QM processor (6MB Cache, up to 3.6GHz w/ Turbo Boost 2.0)

    (3) 3rd Generation Intel® Core™ i7-3820QM processor (8MB Cache, up to 3.7GHz w/ Turbo Boost 2.0)

    -

At least on my end, the cost is +$0 for (1), +$150 for (2), +$350 for (3).

3720 all the way...plus the 3720 and 3820 can both be overclocked 400mhz (the multi can be upped 4x)

The 3820 really isn't worth it. You are getting 100mhz for $200

What are you going to use the additional L3 cache for?

2m L3 cache isn't going to make any real difference

Get the 3720, then overclock the multi up 4x for 4ghz single core...then if you need more, get a 3920xm. Seems like the 3820 isn't really worth it. take that money and put it towards the XM cpu

I'm against overclocking the CPU on my laptop.

what do you think intel turbo 2.0 is? Its built in overclocking. bumping up your multi in the bios is just adjusting the intel turbo settings.

I'm fine with whatever the stock settings are... I just don't want to do it myself.
