Is it normal for displays when in 3D vision to be extremely dim? Everytime i go into 3D Vision the displays goes to the dimmest it can and I cannot adjust the brightness. I've tried setting the brightest and then go into 3D vision but unfortunately the display still goes to its dimmest.

Do you mean when you are wearing your glasses? If so, the. Yes the glasses will dim but the screen should not.

Is the screen itself getting dimmer or are the glasses making it dimmer? As vic_doom69 said the glasses will make it appear darker.

the glasses itself will dim the screen itself. that isn't a problem. the problem is the screen itself. I cannot adjust the brightness at all. No matter what, everytime when i'm in 3D Vision the screen (laptop screen) will always be at its dimmest. When I pressed FN+F4 to increase the brightness, it's already at its max. i don't get it.

the screen.. the glasses will dim the screen a little. but it can be fixed if the screen allowed me to adjust to its maximum brightness.

My r4 is dimmer than the r3 it replaced :( but does not sound as bad as yours . You can compensate in-game though, just look for the 'gamma' option - most have it.

Not even through the in-game gamma correction (Might be called brightness)? Check the game's video options. Games have this to compensate for differences in displays and most do not respond to brightness settings set in windows - in my experience. So the darker display of 3D can look much worse.

I meant IN GAME option. :) Look at the video options the game has (they vary so I can't be more specific) and look for an adjustment there - gamma or brightness. Different games will need different settings, especially in 3D to look their best...
