    Best advice is to do research on that company first. Check out other reviews for their batteries for more than just dell or alienware (but pay special attention to those dell/aw reviews). The one you selected some are saying they had trouble getting it to fit just right, so you might want to be aware of that and what their exchange/return/doa policy is, as some will charge you an arm and a leg for a return and in some cases on doa, they will make you pay the shipping and handling to exchange it (and might on the replacement they send out). I always hold off on my reviews until the product is working and I feel the transaction is finished (that way they don't get that good review when the product actually is junk).

    Have you done a search for the actual Dell/AW part number? I noticed just googling for the Dell Alienware M17x R4 laptop battery I got a large number of returns. Make sure company has been around for a while. Since almost all hi-tech stuff gets usually made in China you probably won't be able to avoid maybe getting a poorly made battery (see Samsung for example) (also note this doesn't mean China doesn't make good batteries either)

    Doesn't look very good; too cheap and some of the reviews indicate they've dropped in used cells. It's also possible they use low-mAh versions or cheap UltraFire/TrustFire knock-offs:

    See Battery test 18650, comparator (a great site).

    Panasonic, Samsung, Sanyo and Sony are all notable producers of 18650 cells, delivering what the package claims. The original battery used one of these, but opening the pack of that Amazon listing will either show a different brand or recycling having taken place.

    Like danger007 mentioned; research the company. And forget any offer for less than ~$60 since these can only be scams. Buying replacement battery packs is rather like threading a minefield, unfortunately :vbfrown: .
