    Hello,
After I decided not to go with the m14x , since it wont last the time I want it to last 3 years of gaming, and other stuff.
I decided to go for m17x. I dont want to spend more then 2500 Dollars.(not including mouse, and anti glare screen)
I want the internal wireless HD 100%

I think that the 15% promotion is the best
    Alienware Deals

Now the question is , do I need a better cpu?(2820 or 2720) thinking of the years to come?
Ram 16gb is way to much!!+ i can always add if I want i think, I think 8gb is more then enough to last 3 years considering now 4gb is hardly used.I will probbaly connect the computer to the huge TV screen at times, using both screens(computer of internet and stuff, and TV for movie , or game). So i think 8gb can handle that.
Wireless I heard the killer 1103 is the best?
3 year warranty must be included in the 2500 dollars
Hard drive? Not quite sure the more that can be stuffed in but not going overboard I dont mind.
I would like to upgrade the LCD to FHD 1920x1080 , since the screen will be with me a long time.

I think i covered everything.(if there is an upgrade that will really boost preformance , i dont mind adding 300$)

thanks alot!sorry for being such a nag, but spending 3000 $ +- is a big price tag.

    P.S
if you think I can haggle on the configuration you gave me, please tell how much you think i can get for it?

I thought about the other laptop makers but except toshiba( i hate) , asus and dell there is no portection for them in my country. Asus protection is less reliable since it doesnt have 1 retailer, dell has thats why I dont mind paying and extra 1000$ for 1 more year warranty + some better bits + alienware coolness.

Too lazy to type it up, so here's my configuration.

    Genuine Windows® 7 Ultimate, 64bit
    Intel® Core™ i7 2720QM 2.2GHz (3.3GHz Turbo Mode, 6MB Cache)
    4GB Dual Channel DDR3 at 1333MHz (2DIMMS)
    2GB GDDR5 AMD Radeon HD 6990M
    750GB 7,200RPM HDD
    17.3-inch WideFHD 1920 x 1080 60Hz WLED
    Killer™ Wireless-N 1103 a/g/n 3x3 MIMO for Gaming & Video
Internal WirelessHD Technology - FullHD Video Transmitter
    Slot-Loading Dual Layer Blu-ray Reader (BR-ROM, DVD+-RW, CD-RW)

I'd recommend u make a dell account, save that configuration, and then call a "US" rep through the phone and haggle for a slight discount.

    Should fit your 2500 budget.

If you want, you can always easily upgrade the ram yourself for much cheaper than Dell, and get double the ram.

You should look into this. http://forum.notebookreview.com/alienware/456885-aw-dell-ordering-advice-how-save.html DR650SE made a pretty good advice thread.

Most people just keep the original hdd/ram when a dell rep comes to your house and plug it in before they get there.

That way it looks like its still in original configuration.

Though i've heard cases where the dell rep is VERY clumsy and tends to destroy your comp more than fix it T_T

Or they just don't care if you upgraded parts.

    Choose your poison wisely.

I prefer not to touch the RAM.
The HDD i might change to SSD when it becomes cheaper.

anyway , any other config or this is the best?

I would say get 4 years instead. Warranty is always worth the price, it is better to reduce the cost on something else than the warranty.

Upgrading the RAM is painless. Much easier than the HDD + Reinstall. I upgraded mine in under 5 minutes. Get the stock 4GB, and replace with 2 4GB sticks.

I cant answer the question about the price as I am not from the US. I can answer your upgrade/improvement question though.

I would downgrade the HDD and RAM from that above config (and upgrade myself). 4 years standard/advanced warranty instead of 3 years standard is a nice addition.

I use Kingston HyperX 2x4GB (Model no: KHX1600C9S3K2/8GX) in my R2 (downlocked to 1333MHz). The ram is 1600MHz, and will work on full speed in the R3.

So , replacing the ram wont hurt my warranty , so ill probbaly do that.

Also should I wait for better/cheaper prices or better options to upgrade?

    P.S
Can somone give me the Hd 6990m benchmark? , I was also thinking about waiting abit since my card GPU HD4870 is pretty nice(3 years old already), but he still lives.
Should I wait till he gets outdated completely?(or he already is ^^)
My computer is 3 and a few months old and I am considering the change, is it worth changing to a m17x(2500 dollar price?)or better to wait more/get a brand desktop?
