Hi,
I have checked the power supply thread, but can't find my issue, so thought I would raise it seperately...
Ealier on, I unplugged my M17X, and used it until the battery was at about 20%. I then plugged it in, and I got a BSOD - The event viewer shows a source of 'Kernel-Power' with an event id of '41'.
It's all a bit wierd really as I can start and use the lappie in safe mode, (Battery or electric), and also in normal mode just using the battery. But as soon as I plug it in (Either while in battery mode, or just start up using the electric supply), It hangs, and the event viewer shows the kernel-power problem.
Any ideas please, I have run the windows memory test, and that didn't find any errors. I have recently started using an alienware mouse, and found that I had a similar issue when I unplugged it and then plugged it back in again.. I found that if I unplugged it, I got a BSOD, If I then restarted the laptop without it plugged in, I constantly got BSOD's, but if I restarted the lappie with the mouse plugged (As it was prior to the initial BSOD) it started ok.
Anyway, not sure whether a reset to factory settings is the best thing to do or see if I can work out what the problem is.

Silver Ghost,
There is a BIOS update available to version A10 now. Have you done that? Aliens have essentially always been cranky about their power supplies and power interruptions, and I have seen similar little issues with mine, rather infrequently. I am not surprised that your memory test is not returning anything (thankfully), and you may actually not have anything patently wrong with your hardware, believe it or not. Others may have more useful comments than I, but I suspect you are basically not in any real danger with this situation. These machines have a goofy habit of really over-reacting to power bumps and interrupts.
