Hey all, I as many have, updated my M17x r2 to the a10 bios, and soon after began suffering the ac adapter not supported/battery not charging problem.

I called alienware, who was utterly helpless (and who apparently only employs people who hear "two" whenever you say "three.")
They of course tried to pawn off a 500 dollar repair or 600 warranty renewal on me.

However, I have seen in here many people with this problem, so i turn to you to ask if anyone has any remedies for this. I understand many have been posted, such as power drains, or a certain x33 bios patch ( I googled before this post, don't worry.)

The power drain fixes nothing for me, nor does a new updating to A10. the phantom x33 bios patch(not 100% on the name of it) seems to have helped people, but all the download links I find for it are broken.

Anyone able to help me out? as of now the battery is at 5%, and the Alienware OSD battery warning is a permanent fixture on the bottom of my screen. If i take my battery out, the compy stays on, but acts as if it has no power source, making it always run in stealth mode. if i pop the battery back in, the compy acts as if it's going to hibernate by itself, then restarts.

I appreciate all your help in advance. I appreciate you even READING this...You guys rule :)

Have you tried the modded A10 bios?
You can find it on this forum.

See sig for modded bios, though I don't know if it will solve your problem. Try uninstalling OSD. I never have it installed.
