This is really weird. I just noticed tonight while playing a game that my headphone speakers were not stereo. Instead, the sound was mono.
I looked at my playback devices. What struck me as odd was that the default device (Speaker / Headphones - IDT High Definition Audio CODEC) doesn't appear to show 2 channels. Instead of showing something like "2 channel, 24-bit, 44100 Hz (Studio Quality)" it shows "24-bit, 44100 Hz (Studio Quality)".
The other audio device listed, Independent (R.T.C.) Headphones, shows that it has 2 channels and when I test it, I can hear it beep in the left speaker, and then in the right speaker. When I test the default device, however, it plays the sound in both speakers... not in stereo.
Can anyone tell me how to make my default audio playback device have more than 1 channel? I'm thinking that's the problem that is causing my games to only have mono sound instead of stereo. Any ideas?
Thanks!

Ack! I just figured it out. For some reason, if I disable the SRS Premium sound in the IDT control panel, the headphones work like they should with full stereo sound! Wow! I can't believe I've played all those games and only just now noticed the lack of stereo. What an unbelievable difference it made disabling that SRS Premium option. I wonder why the SRS Premium option doesn't work with the headphones? Anyway, I just posted this here just in case someone else runs into the same problem.
