I have an M18X-R1 (about a month old) and an M17X-R3 (13 months old). Both are running Windows 7 Ultimate, and have all updates from Microsoft applied.
My wife just got a Nikon D3100 digital SLR with a 16 GB SD memory card. She can't get the memory card to read in the card reader on the M17X. However, it reads just fine on the M18X.
The M17X does, however, read the 8 GB card from my Sony digital SLR camera. If we put the 8 GB card in the Nikon and format it, it still reads fine on the M17X.
So, I really don't think it is a hardware problem. (Unless it is just a limitation of the device itself.)
I went to the Dell support page to look for a driver. I found one for Realtek card reader, but when I click "Download File" it takes me to a page that says the file is not available.
Any suggestions are welcome.
