I just finished reinstalling windows on my M17XR2 and i installed all the drivers off of the Dell Support site but i still have an unknown device. If anyone can help me identify what i am missing it would be a big help. Below is a screen shot of device manager with some of the tree expanded.

    Hmm, free fall sensor maybe?

Anyway, please provide hardware id and maybe other infos from the Detail Tab upon Double Clicking the Unknown Device...

I don't see "Batteries" listed in your device list.

That's because, he obviously scrolled a little bit down, and Batteries comes before Bluetooth i guess if i got the alphapetical order right :D Also there is no driver needed for the battery, it's integrated in the OS and/or Bios afaik.

Also we found the culprit who was missing, ACPI\SMO8800 is the ST Microelectronics Accelerometer listed under system devices (when installed of course) :)

I assumed the picture was scrolled up all the way, and yes Batteries do come
before Bluetooth. As far as the Batteries device listing goes, there are three devices listed under the main "Batteries" listing and they all have drivers installed. But since you have identified what is missing, then its not the Batteries sub-devices.
