Hi guys for the 5th time since 2011 my windows 7 OS has just decided to corrupt for no good reason and I need to reinstall. However I cannot find my windows 7 CD anymore since the move so am considering upgrading to windows 10 as its free. Any tips as I have had to use modded drivers on my laptop for nvidia 680m to run due to it being an after market install. I don't wish to begin the process without at least checking to see if there will be problems with the drivers first as this tends to be where I go wrong.I have a PC that runs windows 7 too aswell as a mac. Any help is appreciated.

    Hey man

I don't want to put you off but I've tried twice to get things working in Windows 10 but didn't work for me. Sure, we have different GPUs so things might work for you but I just want to give you a heads up.

The only persons I know who are successfully using modded drivers in Win10 are those using dedicated mode (which might be your case perhaps). I haven't actually seen anyone with Optimus moving to Win10 without issues.

Ok so i installed windows 10 as windows 7 didnt work anyway. I installed as many of the dell drivers that the pc would take. It works pretty well on the integrated graphics card. I tried to install latest nvidia graphics driver with modded inf file but it didn't take. It failed when I tried to install the graphics driver (tried a clean install too). Hmmmmmm

Right managed to get it working by disabling the gpu varification setting or something like that. Now it works! Fallout 4 works fine so far!
