Not sure if anyone else has encountered this issue, but when I press fn+F12 to turn off the trackpad, it turns back on during the next reboot. Anyone else see this behavior?

That's normal. You have to turn off the trackpad each time you reboot.

My machine does it as well, even if it has only been in Sleep mode og Hibernation. Annoying, but it does not take much effort to turn it off again :)

Try the DELL drivers to see if there is any change

You can also set it to automatically turn off trackpad when a mouse is connected. You can press your alien control center button and find it under AlienTouch "Disable trackpad when external USB mouse is attached"
