Whenever I select the UEFI firmware option when restarting with the troubleshoot method, the PC just ignores and does a normal restart. so I guess there's something wrong
I need to access the UEFI settings on an m17xR4

I tried updating the bios version to A13, still no luck.
    Currently running Windows 10,
    thanks

Try a normal restart and start tapping F2 as soon as the screen goes black. Keep tapping F2 before you see Alienware logo and you should be in BIOS/UEFI settings.
