    • Will the new AMD Radeon R9 M290X work with the M17R4 (using 7990 now)?
    • Is there a Wireless AC upgrade will work with the M17R4(using Killer now)?
    I should also add:

    • Is there a way to stack 2 SSD's in 1 bay (Example if I want 4 x EVO 1TB) for 4TB of SSD storage in it also.

You're using the 7970M. The M290x is a re-branded 7970M, with a higher clock rate. It will not perform any better.

Killer Wireless 1103 is a decent card. You could upgrade to the Broadcom 4352, which comes in the new Alienware 17's, but you won't notice any difference.

And nope, there's isn't a way to cram four (4) 2.5" SSD's into the M17x R4. Your best and only option is to have two 1TB 840 EVO's in RAID, both on the SATA III ports. Unfortunately, not all of the ports on the M17x R4 are SATA III, which means it would be a complete waste of money to have more than two SSD's.

My suggestion to you: If you have money burning a hole in your pocket, save it. Alienware will launch another "E3 presentation" this year, like last year, and will likely present some new products. Along with that, AMD is finally expected to release another mobile GPU this year to compete with NVIDIA's Maxwell, which is also going to launch soon. With all of this new stuff about to come out, I think it's best to put a hold on upgrading everything except the network card and SSD's.

    Thanks J.

I have wireless AC at home and wanted a faster wireless card with more range. I do allot of photography and video work and wanted 4TB of storage space if possible. I also want to drive 4k external monitors. Not sure I can do that with the 7970M, then again it does have displayport out. Maybe it will do it.

you can get 2 x 2TB 9.5mm Samsung M9T Drives, get 1TB Samsung Evo 840 mSATA drive, and if you're still stuck for storage, get another 2TB in optical bay, so 6TB HDD storage in your M17XR4, you can obviously RAID0 them three for better performance, and use mSATA (unfortunately @ SATA2 speeds up to 3GB/s, but not that you'll notice much difference in everyday use) and you're set with total of ~7TB RAW space in your m17x!! :) now how's that?

probably not looking at what E3 has been so far... It doesn't look like Alienware is refreshing the laptops at all...
