Anyone else gonna go out and get it?
I didn't play the last one, but to be honest BF3 makes BOPS look like a Leapster game (In gameplay and graphics alike).
-
i got the email said that it moved to oct 24.....weird
i am a bf fan since bf2, also loved cod, different games. -
Played some single player and a couple of multiple player conquest rounds, really is the most immersive fps game so far. works at 60 fps on my m17x 6990m - ultra textures and all high settings with aa.
-
-
Yes, very good to hear. Really wish I didn't have class tomorrow morning.
I saw something about Oct. 24th too, but Origin still says it's available on the 25th... weird. IGN already has their reviews out too-- confusing. (It got 9/10 by the way, they said it was all good except for the singleplayer... which i really don't care about anyways.) -
ultra on the 6990m seems to pull a steady 40fps/50fps

yup, 60fps with a few minor hits here and there for me too.
all settings ultra, with MSAA 2x instead of 4.
Freaking gorgeous.

I'm installing now any gtx580's out there have a chance to give it a run?
GTX580m Ultra settings runs smooth as could be. -
Having trouble with my 460m. Can play the campaign just fine, but bf3 crashes every time I try and play multiplayer. Something with Optimus perhaps? Any help appreciated.
-
Sweet, installing now for the 6990m.
-
games works fine on my specs with 11.9 drivers.
unlocked with korean vpn -
Was downloading at 1am last night since i reliased it was release date, woke up at 6 am and my girl had just switched the laptop off... ¬¬'
*sigh*
Another 7 hours downloading lol, hopefully ready when i finish work. -
How... do I access the multiplayer? The main menu only shows single player...?
-
-
After playing about 2 hours my system is suffering... Specs in Sig.... I had it set for AUTO and it gave me high everything except textures it put at ULTRA. I was running it at my native 1920x1200. Running campaign it worked at these settings like butter but going to Multiplayer 64 maps my system seems to be feeling it....
I am beginning to think it is time to go back to building a serious gaming desktop. Just not sure how much of a serious benefit I will see for what I am willing to spend.
I checked some 3dMark11 scores and my current system hits P4295 and desktop systems with the CPU and GPUs I plan to use only it around 6-7k on it.. Just not sure if it would be worth the 1200ish I am looking to spend. -
-
render.drawfps true
i believe shows the fps on your screen -
-
I'm going to head to Best Buy after work to pick this game up. Can't wait
My system should do pretty fair with it.
-
Its prob worth updating your drivers to 11.10 preview 3 as there are some bf3 performance tweaks i seem to read somewhere.
-
Game runs very nice with a couple things turned down or off like AA.
HBAO/SSAO and AA Having the biggest impact on performance it seems with what little time i have played it.
Good times. -
Well the GTX 460M seems to handle it OK. I had to reduce the resolution to 1680x1050 and reduce the graphic detail to medium to get a decent frame rate. Hopefully the Xmas bonus can cover the cost of a GTX 580M from Eurocom.
-
It works pretty well with my build most settings on high and like 2 medium, think its safe to over clock? right now its at the stock setting
-
Anyone else with GeForce GTX 260M graphics card not being able to update your drivers from 280.26 to 285.38 or higher? Downloaded it from Nvidia and when I go to install for 285.62 it says graphic driver could not find compatible graphcs hardware! ! LOL I downloaded the exact driver for my card! LOL It lets me in the game but I have weird artifacting and everytime i start it up it gives me the error to upgrade even though you can close the box and continue.
-
You may have downloaded the driver for the right graphics card, but that doesn't mean that nVidia wrote Dell's vendor ID into the inf files. Look into getting a modified inf for the driver package and try again.
-
Just picked up a copy at Best Buy
-
since i cant buy this game on steam, can anyone tell me if it requires the CD to play...i travel a lot and hate bringing disks along so i usually use steam jsut for that reason
-
The box says the disc is only for installation. "DVD Rom required for installation only"
So my guess is you won't need to drag it along, but i have not tried it yet. -
Call me Crazy but disabling Turbo on the laptops help for the time being until a patch comes out for this game, at least for me.
-
Welcome back, man.
I can't seem to get multiplayer working...Just sits at "Matchmaking" On the plugin.

Single ATI 4870, Intel i7 720 here. Play everything on Medium no AA. Very playable. Quite surprised actually.

No fair, still gotta wait 2 days here in the UK!!!

Using the Control + Alt + S to show FPS, Operation Metro kills me bringing my fps down too 17 at it's lowest and only 25-30 at it's highest. Operation Firestorm I see 25 lowest and 35 highest. The Ghazza map I see 20 lowest and 45 highest.
In addition to these numbers, I see lag spikes that last half a second of about 5 fps. Happens when I, say, run over a hill and see the battle going on down below. More of a stutter if anything.
All settings medium, at 1920 x 1200. Just figured I'd share. -
Is anyone else playing on an R1/R2 with crossfire 4870's? I cannot get crossfire to work. For whatever reason, it utilizes GPU 2 completely, and does nothing with GPU 1. I've tried 11.9 and 11.10 with the latest CAP, and i even went back to the official AW drivers just to make sure, but no dice. are you 5870m guys having any crossfire problems? -
I find 11.9 cat the best for me. Not the previews for 11.10 -
-
EDIT: Went and checked, terrain quality is set to low, AF to 4x, no Ambien Occlusion, AA off. The AO is the one that hits the hardest. In Operation Firestorm, I see 40fps. -
-
Quickest round I have ever played of Rush. That sucked. Low of 23, high of 35. The low of 23 was in the streets with a lot of action happening. The high of 35 was in the streets (again) with not a lot happening. -
-
Ok, yes. That's killer. Once I got to the area with the multi level houses/apartments, frames dipped to Metro levels. 17-19. However, staying away from them saw the frames hold steady at 25 and up. Only dipping to 25 when the action got going. So, I lowered the reso to 1400 x 1050 (I think that was the one) and the frames never dipped to below 25. Average with this reso is around 30 I would imagine.
-
Downloading this now. I'm anxious to see how smooth it will run on my 6970.
-
Thought I'd give my 2 cents
Didn't check the FPS, I read on the last page ctrl alt S shows it, I'll try it tonight.
Game is smooth though (I'd say above 30, possibly in the 40-50fps range) with native resolution, AA *2, vert sync *2 all ultra. I did the whole campaign already and there must have been 2 occasions where I did notice a 3 seconds performance drop (It glitched a bit, no biggy).
I want to try MP.... I do, but my strafe left is on "q", and there is an issue unbinding the communication rose.............. So I can't really play MP at all atm... -

I've been playing with my 6990M conservatively overclocked to 800/1100.
On all Ultra with everything maxed, that gets me about 25 FPS on average. I've been using what are basically the High settings, except with Ultra textures, with no AA or AF, and get around 45 FPS.
I am using the 11.9 drivers. I will upgrade to 11.10 once the official drivers come out this weekend (supposedly).
