Ooh, mass effect 3

bigtonyman Desktop Powa!!!
-
Thanks!!! Definitely appreciated.
-
Does this still play nice with Optimus?
-
I remember having problem with 285.XX update for HDMI in. Is this fixed? Thx.
-
bigtonyman Desktop Powa!!!
installed fine on my machine, but I have the igpu shut off to avoid graphics switching issues.
-
Won't install on mine. Says driver not compatible. Do I have to uninstall the old one first?

What graphics card(s) do you have, ht_addict ?
-
-
I will let you know if it installs on my GTX 580M SLI
EDIT: Installed perfectly fine. ht_addict, just to confirm you have downloaded the right driver which supports your OS? Also you may consider re-downloading it and also try installing it in safe mode? I don't know if you can, but it's just a thought. -

Follow these steps:
- First of all uninstall your current nVIDIA display drivers.
- Reboot in Safe Mode (repeatedly press the F8 key after the BIOS prompt and choose Safe Mode)
- Run your favorite registry cleaner (I personally use CCleaner), backup your registry first and choose to clean your registry to remove any remnants of the old driver (you might need to run it a couple of times until there's nothing to remove).
- Reboot one more time.
- Download the 295.51 nVIDIA beta drivers to your Desktop(or wherever you want)
- Double click and let them extract the files in the default directory (C:\NVIDIA)
- Press Cancel when it starts checking for hardware compatibility
- Download my attached archive and extract the file
- Cut/copy it and paste in "C:\NVIDIA\DisplayDriver\295.51\WinVista_Win7_64\International\Display.Driver"
And replace originals - Go back to the "International" folder and run setup.exe
- Continue performing normal installation steps, choosing Custom(Advanced)>Next>and check Perform a clean installation>Next and at the windows prompt choose Install...anyway
- Reboot when prompted and voila
- Don't forget to reenable SLi in nVIDIA Control Panel and reboot your system
- Enjoy!
Note for M17x (R1) users:
-Don't forget to turn off PCIe Gen2 in BIOS under Advanced > Graphic Settings.

The Revelator Notebook Prophet
Installed smoothly and cleanly in my 580M equipped R3 using the normal process. Very slightly slower in 3dMark11 (~15 points), but that's probably within normal variance.
-
Just an FYI I uninstalled the 290.53 drivers, ran CCleaner and then installed the 295.51 with no problems and I have not disabled optimus.
-
having issues installing this with the 2x 280m ive followed ur step by step and no dice so far. Get no hardware with regular setup and missing files with ur included file.
-
edit: Rebooted then tried to install again without replacing the .inf file and it worked. New drivers seems to be working well. -
guys something weird happened, I lost skype to this update
upon a quick search, apparently this has happened to quite many especially with the 285.62 release, any ideas? trying to find a remedy but nothing is working so far
-
Thanks for the .inf Katalin!
Any overall performance increase tweaks noticed by anyone yet? -

any gtx 580m user (WIDEZU
) can confirm if 295.51 is running skyrim?
-
And my name gets mentioned again. Sorry guys, I don't play Skyrim (don't shoot me!) so I can't tell you guys whether it works or not. Other games work fine.
-
oh shame on you!!
so I will try it again in the evening, but no skype is a gamechanger for me
-
-
Working fine here GTX580. Installed easy. Got me a few points in benchmarks. Don't play Skyrim but all my other games work the same or better than the last beta.
-
1. clean install
2. goto nvidia control and set skype to integrated graphics (i have it set to 580M for everything)
3. set skype to run as administrator.
dont ask why but for me it worked somehow.
Hope it helps

thanks anyway!
-
it works very well for me with my new gtx 460m, now i´ll try with skyrim if anyone wants to know
it seems to be 2 or 3 fps faster, thats great! -
-
I've since reverted to 290.53. Some of my older games wouldn't run on 295.51.
-
I'm having no luck with my R1 with GTX 260m sli.
-
Uninstall Skype.
Do a new clean install of Skype.
On compatibilitybility tab for the Skype installer, run as compatible with Windows 7 and as an administrator.
The install will complete normally and launch Skype.
Check the compatibility tab on all Skype shortcuts to be sure that they are set as Windows 7 and to run as administrator.
Mine now works fine with no video issues at all.

Any improvements on Batman Arkham City?
-
MickyD1234 Notebook Prophet
Back in a while...
Edit: missed saying rage is fine on the 295...
So, BM Ark City is better from the 285 for me. I tend to look at the minimum frame rate from the in-game benchmark as a good indicator of when the card is struggling. I got 17 which is way better than I have seen sometimes (as low as 3 or 4 for a split second) -
I have M17x R1 with the gtx 260
I recently tried installing the 295.51 Drivers. I used the modified inf. When I go through the setup I get an error "failed to install one of the core component which may affect driver functionality. The most recent driver that worked will now be restored." Also at the beginning of the install I get a message "window's can't verify the publisher of this driver software" and I can click to cancel or continue installation.
I gave up trying to install that and just tried to install the latest driver from Nvidia, but when I run the setup it fails to recognize my video card.
Any suggestions?
thanks -
i get the same problem with these drivers 295.18 worked for me just have to use the modified inf file the issue i'm now having any nvidia drivers that i install cause my WiFi to stop working properly. try these drivers. and make sure that when your on laptopvideo2go you pick the mobile version of the drivers
-
help! im using kaitlin's modded inf, and i get required files are missing when I replace the nvdm file. I have 260m

well i guess dell lied to me when they sent me my m17x and had 260m on it because the installer is saying no compatible hardware found. -

The Revelator Notebook Prophet
@Pinoy 92 -- Nah, I guess Nvidia is the liar, according to Katalin. Nvidia is the one that says it is supported. Can't trust anyone these days.
-
I wish Nvidia would realize that some of us still have GTX260m's ...
-
anyone found a fix for m17x yet?
-
yes get the 295.51 zip modded inf
-
Firstly - Katalin you're a legend.
Unfortunately, I'm still having problems. I have followed the steps and get the 'Required files are missing' error. I downloaded the other zip posted (nvdm.zip) and have returned to the 'Could not find compatible graphics hardware' error.
I'm assuming the mistake is my 'Hybrid' setup? I currently have Hybrid enabled so that my cards are detected, but tend to run with both 'disabled' usually. I also have switched the PCIe Gen2 off.
Ideas?
Thanks
