i have a M17x R2 with the 4870.I'm having some problems with it dropping FPS on games and stuff.drivers are up to date.i wouldn't mind FPS dropping, but when it drops to 1fps and struggles on a game like WoW to at least have 10fps i don't know what to do.

not a lot of software is available to monitor the 4870x2.but i have been using Powertech GPU-Z 0.5.6. for some reason crossfire is disabled and the fan speed never moves from 30%.

i know that some Alienware laptops have an integrated GPU,and it sometimes run on it. but i don't think i have one.when i press FN+F7 (GFX) nothing happen,no flicker no massage, nothing.Device manager lists my ATI card as my display adapter.

also tried checking the BIOS for GPU options.i don't have an option for my GPU at all.

The R2 doesn't have an integrated GPU. I have never found a program that shows the correct fan speed, so I wouldn't worry about that either. FN+F7 doesn't do anything. Try a few things.

Make sure you're plugged into the wall.
Make sure your power settings in Windows are set to 'High Performance'.
Make sure you're not in Stealth mode.
You can enable CrossFire by right-clicking on your desktop and running Catalyst Control Center. I don't remember what tab it is under. I only have one card.
Use HWMonitor32 to watch your CPU/GPU temperatures. Play WoW for a bit and see if your temperatures are getting too high. You can also see how high your GPU usage gets.
If you have access to any of the 3DMark benchmarks, run a benchmark at default settings and post the results as well as a screenshot of HWInfo here so we can help you troubleshoot.

TurbodTalon is probably right, it is very likely your machine is in stealth mode, look up your manual on how to switch from stealth mode to normal mode. i have had the same config for a while, that's quite a fast machine, 1FPS is performance of an Atom machine (or such alikes), your machine should do a whooooooooole lot better.
