I want to upgrade my computer from 675m to a 7979m
Does the cooler fit on the 7970m?

    Thank you

Hi, I only know that I worked with a guy doing that (NV to ATI) and he said that the x-bracket screws are a different size to the captive ones you have. He managed to remove them and use the correct larger screws. You may find the existing x-bracket can be used in which case the screws would not change, don't know I'm afraid!?
Pad layout would be a case of figuring it out and I'd suggest using DDU to strip out all the NV stuff before installing the NV drivers, but windows should at least figure out enough to make it usable.

Good luck and let me know how it goes if you go for it :).
