I'm really confused as to what cooling pad would be the preferred for this laptop due to the size. I have tried a few out but they all seem to be too small. Any suggestions?

    Thanks!

List what you've tried. I have the NZXT Cryo LX. Fits nicely.

I have the NZXT Cryo LX as well. Works great. It's almost as if it made for the M17x. The blowholes align perfectly and blow the cool air up into the M17x which sucks it through the unit cooling the components and exhausts it in the rear once it's hot.

I know this may sound stupid but I truly can't tell.
Are the fans on the bottom of my m17X pulling air into the unit and pushing out the back? Which way does the Cyro blow??

Edit: Thinking about this one mainly because the Cyro is not a lap friendly. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834982005

Yes, the air is sucked from the bottom and goes out from the back.
Cryo LX has three fans that are perfectly aligned with M17x's fans and they're blowing upward into M17x's fans.
It might seem like cryo lx is designed for M17x.

If you don't intend to OC' and bench, no need for a pad IMO.
With constant room temps +27-30C max GPU seldom climbs above 80C and CPU above 70C even after many hours of gaming. The cooling is just perfect in M17X.

    I use this:
    http://www.thermaltakeusa.com/Product.aspx?C=1135&ID=1883

It works exceptionally well underneath my notebooks. I did put two little rubber feet (rubber furniture feet with a quick stick top to them) at the top of the pad on either edge to enhance airflow. So there is at least one solution that should work quite well.

    Yes, I agree with Aikimox.
You won't need a cooling pad even if you're gonna game for like the whole day straight.

    for NZXT Cryo LX:
power is drawn from ac adapter?
and the usb ports serves as additional usb ports for the laptop?
