Bad Company was a spin-off of the Battlefield series geared towards console gamers.

BFBC and BFBC2 were never intended to be actual sequels of BF2, which is what BF3 will be.

Dude what nVidia drivers are you running? have you setup an SLI profile with nvidiaInspector? Is SLI sharing the load evenly?
Using SLI - AFR2 i can get the load sharing evenly but FPS is not right!

    two questions!!!!

one: "seems i forgot the latest cap" ...what does cap mean? lol i know, dumb, but i truly dont know.

two: anyone know if you can put the dual 460m's in the r2..? like maybe later on buy em sepratly and instal em urself kinda thing but does the r2 support it?

is that multiplayer? also, it seems like ur invis shield lasts longer and doesnt drain energy as much. that true or am i halucinating?

Edit: ...just saw what the title of the youtube vid was... >.< omit multiplayer prt xD

hopefully with the new A10 Unlocked Modded Bios we will be able too or even the 470m SLI/6970m CF depends on power constrains
but dells standard bios won't allow us to.

boo, well, i think ill stay away from other BIOS updates even if they did come out. the way i see it: if you mod something yourself, you have a greater chance to screw it up since it wasnt intended for it anyways. (figure of speech).

The bios mod is fantastic only unlocked options that were hidden! if you have a non Xtreme CPU you can o/c too. Its completely safe unless you turn power off while flashing bios lol

    Hey all :)

Just to add my bit of info to this thread, I have run Crysis 2 on my rig (details in sig) and disabling crossfire all the while running riva-tuner (800-1150) yielded the best results.
I can run the demo at 1920*1200 res on "advanced" settings and get an average fps of 38-40 with a minimum of 32 recorded with fraps. This with v-sync enabled and carried out on the two maps.
Although, for best measure, I would play the game on the "gamer" setting and not have to worry about lag.

    With X-fire enabled, I couldn't push the fps past 35 on 1680*1050.

Seems like X-fire isn't supported anyway, at least on the demo. Not sure forcing it would improve the performance one bit. Hope they adress this issue before the full release :)

Some are having luck with xfire and some (me) aren't... Starting to sound like typical ATI driver issues.

Are you using the Dell drivers or the latest 11.2 from AMD? Also, I wasn't aware that Riva Tuner worked. What version are you using? Every time I have attempted to use it in the past it has locked my machine up. I just ended up flashing my machine, but Riva would be much safer.

i must be one of the few that doesnt have issues with ati drivers, m8 of mine bought an ati desktop with a 5870 in there. Everytime he tries to update his drivers his screen goes weird n has to roll back again lol -.-

With the latest cap i got crossfire working on my dual 5770 vapor x in me desktop and does add a fair amount of fps, guess these issues must be related to alienware or so.

My old laptop ( hp hdx dragon with 20" lolz with a 8800gts) had a few issues with nvidia but not much , mostly went with ati because their mostly more bang for your buck as such.

With crysis 2 being a demo atm there is bound to be issues esp with laptop hardware i supose although the beta leak seemed to run better on me pc then the demo -.-

Yeah I'm using the 11.2 with app profiles.
Everytime my computer hung on me when using Rivatuner is because I didn't carry out the "Enableulps" step in the registry (I don't have the laptop at hand so I can't tell you exactly what version of Riva I'm using).
Else it works very well. PM me if you want the step by step process explained, I prefer not going off topic, want to stay on the bat's good list lol

EDIT: The flash is a longer lasting method. I use Riva since I don't mind clicking a few times before running a game like Crysis or BFBC2 which need the extra grunt.

hey man, I tried this and it makes my game run awesome, 70-80fps on skyline on "gamer" settings.

but.. it flickers horribly, and screen goes black for a split second when i zoom and more stuff like that D:

aside from that though, so smooth!

weird, i havnt noticed any of that ( yet lol )

i'll see if i can find the cause of this, and if it happens for me aswell.

the motionblur n glow is annoying anyways for multiplayer ;p

Has anybody else had issues with finding a server/game that will actually connect? The games I've gotten into either stall out or wait for 10+ mins between games.

hah, ill be sure to not pull the plug. but even then peeps are complaining about specific drivers not working cvorrectly, and if one would do that, i would hate to see bad repercussions of it, (wait.... these two are connected, right?)

Whoa! I am getting 55+fps @ 1200p on Hardcore! I went in and uninstalled all of my ATI software and drivers. Ran Driver Sweeper and reinistalled 11.2. I also did the "Enableulps" mod that thenzfarmer mentioned. I started playing and was greeted with ~32fps. I then switched on Vsync and it shot up to 55-60fps. I thought this was some kind of fluke and exited the game and tried it again. Sure enough switching vsync off and on had a profound difference. I am now getting 1.5x the performance I was getting at 1680x1050 at 1200p. Crazy!

That's just it. You have to jump back and forth. If the game started with vSync ON then I would turn it OFF and see an increase. If the game started OFF and I turned vSync ON I would see an increase. Pretty crazy stuff really. The problem I am finding is that for some reason every few times I die I have to do the vSync thing again. Clearly their are some driver issues afoot.

    EDIT: That's with xFire ON.

I think you are meaning problems with the Video Bios (VBios) & then ATI Graphics drivers. There is no problem that i know off with this A10mod System Bios as its just A10 with a few extra options :)

Still not sure whether or not Xfire is supported lol.
To whoever may have the time to test it, try renaming the executable to rift.exe.
That seems to have worked for a few users :)
I don't know for myself, yet.

Believe it or not, some games seem to run better with graphics on high! NOt sure why this is unless it was "optimized" for a certain resolution
