If you continue getting the error after you've installed this, completely remove your video drivers, reboot, and reinstall them.

Got this 10.1 version installed today in a round about way. Still testing but performance is not as good in MW2 and BF_BC2. 9.12 hotfix version is still the best so far for gaming performance for me.
-
10.2 is looking a lot better. Much better performance in MW2 and BF_BC2. I am getting in the 40-55 FPS in BF_BC2 beta. 30-45 FPS was my range with 9.12 hotfix.
Also never noticed the DirectX compute selection in previous version as checked. -

So 10.2 is beating 9.12? comfortably?
May have to put that driver through its paces in the futuremark suite haha -
dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate

Aight Don...something aint working...so can you take me (and everyone else) step by step through the install process for 10.2 in Win 7 x64
Thanks bud! -
dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
use the have disk method on it and choose the ch one.
-
Not working for me, my second 3850 not installed right. Somebody also work with Mobility Modder?
-
Next, choose Browse my computer. Then "let me pick ...".
Click "Have Disk"
Navigate to the extracted folder. For me it's Downloads\Support\10-2_vista64_win7_64_dd_ccc_wdm_enu\Packages\Drivers\Display\W76A_INF.
Double-click the file with the CH in the name. Start installing.
NOTE - I had a problem with several flickering black screens after install. I have since hard-shut down (held power button down) and restarted. I'm showing 10.2 and so far so good. -

I did the "have disk" method installing over working drivers and that is what allowed me to get crossfire working.
When I installed using have disk over no existing drivers they loaded properly but no crossfire option was there -

actually i think the 10.2 scored a few less on benchmark than the 9.12 with the hotfix. However it seems to be better in games in addition to the crossfire support for more games. it seems contradictory.

with crossfire - dual 4870's on my M17x
-
Used the have disk method with the driver in ur sig Don...it shows both cards as 10.2 under device manager but 1 card has an exclamation mark on it. Also, can't get CCC to install via 10.2 setup. Should I have done have disk without removing 9.12 drivers?
-
dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
it's a pita to do it. I hace successfully get it to work though.
steps?
install dell's drivers and then install the 10.2 using the have disk method. Choose ch. C7 doesn't use crossfire. I foundout how to install 10.2 ccc in it but it isn't worth the time.
also install the crossfire profile. 10.3 will have mobility support but I will still will make them with the driver number at the end so you can easily see what driveryou are using.
to see if the driver installedright just look at your cards in the device manager and see if 10.2 's are there. -
the Ati 10.3 drivers

10.3 has crossfireX mobility support?
-
The drivers installed correctly but only one 4870 is showing up as installed.
-
any idea if it's better than 10.2?
-

install ch for win7...
also install the dell drivers first and overinstall the 10.2 in them. I will write an html page and place it in the driver over the week end. -
I installed The dell drivers first and then the 10.3 drivers and now crossfire is working. I tried dragon age and it is running really smooth now, before i had a small hitching problem.
-
-
Yeah that is what i did. But restart right after installing the stock dell drivers before you install the 10.3 drivers.
-
i'll try it out later tonight and run some benches.
-
downloading the 10.3 right now. think i can install them on top of my current modded 9.12 or uninstall and do a fresh one?
-
dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
is everyone happy with 10.3???
if so i will remove 10.2... -
Yea, still game testing but so far a 10.3 is a keeper for me.
-
cookinwitdiesel Retired Bencher
you still did good don, don't worry lol
-
Thanx GagetBoi for the testing. I think I will give it a shot too
-
10.3 works for me!

For those wanting to test, Catalyst 10.3a is out and there is a notebook version.
It is here: http://www.legitreviews.com/article/1253/1/ -
gadget, I tried following the links but then got an "unauthorized download" message upon clicking the article's link...
-
http://sites.amd.com/us/underground/tips/Pages/catalyst-10-3-preview.aspx
I downloaded from both sites without a problem. -
Water flickering/texture flickering is back in the 10.3a release for some reason. I didn't have it with the older 10.3's.
-
so what are the fastest drivers ?
-
I have a 4870X2 in that configuration).
One way of resolving it is just change AAF no matter what it's set to (example. at x16 to x8 or x1 to x2 or x4 to x16 you get the idea)... it's a temporary fix & you will need to do it everytime a map loads or reloads.. annoying but effective.
