Just ordered a M17x with a single 250GB Drive and was curious if anyone could provide me with the Make or Model of the Hard drive they use as I am looking match it up with one from Newegg to RAID 0 it with. Also does it matter if you mix and match brands as long as the specs are the same? IE 7200 RPM

Its usually better to get identical hdds, when wanting to RAID 0 or RAID 1.
However all you really need is the same specs like you said; the size, speed and cache. Then your all good to go oles!!!

Probably Seagate. Like reborn said it's wise to wait until you receive the system and get the same model/brand.

My M17X R2 came with a Toshiba and a Seagate 500gb 7200rpm in Raid zero, oh well, it worked, I wish it would have been the same brand.

The 250gb drive is a Seagate 7200rpm hdd. I just swapped mine out for a raid 0 configuration
-
Mine came with WD Caviar Black 500's in RAID 0.

Aus. It's intersting to compare what's available on the various Dell web sites around the world. Every country seems to offer different configs.
(I have nothing better to do with my time) Lol
