My keyboard won't illuminate, and command center doesn't detect it in FX. I am running windows 7 home premium (64-bit). What driver / file am I missing and can someone point me to a location to obtain it? Thank you.

the light and function cable for the keyboard may actually not be seated correctly. if a re installation of CC does not fix the issue, I would try to see if this cable is disconnected. The main button cable is in the center, the illumination cable is on the left.

Would that cable actually prevent CC from recognizing the keyboard whatsoever?

technically your keyboard shouldn't work either in that case. Right?. So its probably just the AlienFX software bugging up. Uninstall it. reboot and then reinstall using the latest version form the dell website. If that doesn't fix it Call support :p

I had this issue on my frist m17x. Yes the there is 2 cables. Use dell Manual to show you how to get to the cable. Dell Manuals. Pick the model you have M17x r1 or r2 but I think they are basicly the same.

Hey all. I have the same issue. I tried reseating the cable, and new CC, both m17 and m15, and nothing works. Any more ideas, or should I return it?
