    Hello everyone,

I just received my LCD Replacement, currently i have the

RGB LED, Part Number = 0J2CY8

    and replacement was

Samsung LCD, Part Number = 0R610K

I tried replacing, the new one doesn't even fit into the LCD back cover, so i didn't continue the process and planning to fit my older LCD back again...

    need help on this.

    Thank you..

Samsung LTN170CT08 is the manufacteror part number of the RGB screen that will work in the R2.

Samsung LTN170CT10 is the manufacturer part number of the LCD 1920 by 1200 screen that will work in the R2.

Samsung LTN170BT10 is the manufacturer part number of the LCD 1440 by 900 screen that will work in the R2.

NO OTHER SCREENS WILL WORK! I've spent the better part of the last 3 months solving this problem. ONLY Samsung screens with those part numbers will work - and the RGB screen uses a different backlight power supply then the CCFL LCD screens, so you would need to buy the appropriate inverter.

Only buy a screen if the seller has confirmed the part number to be exact, not compatible. Compatible means he will send you a screen made by a different manufacturer such as LG, or AIO which will supposedly work. For all other laptops, this would be fine, but not for the M17x. Only genuine Samsung screens will work.

The replacement part i've got is...

Samsung LTN170CT11.... This doesn't fit in correctly, though its an M17x LCD.

And there are new parts in this LCD. A small Green PCB with Inductor on it. Additionally, there are only three antennas, where my current one has 4. White, Grey, Black and Lastly Blue. This doesn't have a Grey one, looks like an outdated but the part number is superseeded.

Is Samsung LTN170CT11 outdated part ? As Samsung LTN170CT10 has double lamps, Samsung LTN170CT11 has only one lamp.

    confused.

I'm pretty sure the LTN170CT11 only works in the R1.

Thanks for the confirmation. The LCD in the Official M17x Tear Down video has the same LCD either.

Anyways, now how do i convince the freaking Tech Support, they think its for the R2

and is the LTN170CT08 RGB LED Screen should i ask for?
