hi all. a few days ago my alienware m17x, startet to have a lot of software problems, so i decided to make an alienrespawn. the respawn seemed to be okay. i configured windows fine and pressed restart when it prompted me. but when the windows logo came up it froze, and i was forced to make a hard restart. now my problem is that everytime i start my computer up, it goes into black screen for 30 seconds before it goes to the logon screen.
does anyone know whats wrong ?
    Thanks in Advance

If I were to venture a guess, it sounds like Windows might be hanging up, possibly a during a driving load.

Make sure your drivers are all up to date and see what happens.

Just FYI, I've had some boot ups take a minute or so.

Do you mean that when you power it up it won't show ilthe windows starting animation but keep the screen blank and then get you to a login screen?

no the windows seven logo shows up, and then my screen goes black for 20-30 seconds. after that it goes to the login screen.

It still sounds like the boot process is getting stuck somewhere. Windows is trying to start a process, but for some reason cannot, then gives up and resumes normal booting.

Try to disable aliensense and see if it helps.

type eventvwr in the search box... go to Windows Logs -> System and see if you have any errors there...
